Seton’s Page on track all-star team
PLATTSBURGH — Seton Catholic’s Evan Page was excluded from the 2014 track and field all-star team writeup in Friday’s Press-Republican.
Page, a senior, was selected after winning the 3,200-meter run at the Section VII Track and Field State Qualifier held at Beekmantown Central School May 30.
Page finished his season with his best race in the state meet. He set a new personal record in the 3,200 with a time of 9:39.50 to finish fourth in Division II and a trip to the podium.
He has been a big point scorer for the Knights by running in the 800, 1,600, 1,600 relay and 3,200 relay. Page will run cross country and track at St. Lawrence next year.
Baseball Camp contest winners announced
PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Baseball Camp completed its third-annual event at South Acres Field Thursday morning. Thirty kids competed in end of the week contests.
Single A (ages 5-6)
Base Running- Adrian Barnes. Pitching- Adrian Barnes and Steven Bronson. Gold Glove- Adrian Barnes. Hitting- Steven Bronson. Bunting- Michael Mannix.
Double A (ages 7-8)
Base Running- Hutchinson Ovios. Pitching- Ethan Barnes. Gold Glove Ground Balls- Hutchinson Ovios. Gold Glove Fly Balls- Brady Mannix. Hitting- Brady Mannix and Dylan Pachter. Bunting- Dylan Pachter.
Triple A (ages 9-10)

Boating safety course July 14-15 in Massena
MASSENA — A boating safety course (About Boating Safely) will be given by U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 092-01-01 Massena at N.Y.P.A.’s Hawkins Point Visitors Center from 5 to 9 p.m. July 14 and 15. Both sessions must be attended. The cost is $35 per person, and family rates are available. A boating safety certificate will be issued at the completion of the course. Pre-registration is required.
