Thunder Road officials announce postponement

BARRE, Vt. — Thunder Road officials have announced the postponement of Northfield Savings Bank night scheduled for Thursday, July 3.

The event has been postponed due to rain and rescheduled for Sunday, July 6 with a post time of 6:30 p.m. Sunday’s event will include a full card of racing followed by a fireworks show immediately following the night’s racing.

There will also be race car rides for kids from 4 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.

76-lap event to highlight Saturday’s Airborne program

PLATTSBURGH — Airborne Park Speedway will offer racing, fireworks and live music Saturday with its program headlined by a three-segment 76-lap event for Ernie’s Discount Tools Modifieds.

The Modifieds will turn 30 laps the first segment, which will pay $600 to win, as will the 26-lap second segment and the 20-lap finale. The driver with the lowest three-round total will pocket $1,000 making a three-segment sweep worth $2,800.

The Parker Chevrolet/High Peaks Dental race card includes the J&S Steel Sportsman Modified division, which finds two-time feature winners Travis Bruno of Morrisonville, Jason Durgan of Plattsburgh and defending champion Nick Heywood only 25 points apart in the divisional title chase.

Airborne’s Renegades and Mini Modifieds will also be in action.

There will also be one of the area’s largest fireworks displays and live performances by the Bootleg Band and Jamie Lee Thurston. Gates open at 3:30 p.m., and racing begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free. After 8 p.m., admission is $10 per carload.

AuSable Valley Fun Run/Walk results announced

CLINTONVILLE — Paul Ford, Tomas Ford, Sonny Debella, Reeghan Martineau and Kaidence Spooner were the winners at the June 30 AuSable Valley Fun Run/Walk. The free series, sponsored by the Jay/Black Brook and Keeseville Youth Commissions, will continue July 7 at AuSable Valley Middle/High School. All ages and ability levels are welcome. Those who participate on four nights will receive a free t-shirt.
