Mariners reunion, tournament this weekend

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Mariners organization has announced its Hall of Fame weekend event will occur during the Brian Mehan/Alex Turner Tournament today, Saturday and Sunday.

A reunion for all former American Legion players, coaches and supporters will be held at Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh Saturday. The public is invited to attend.

MIR returns tonight

AKWESASNE — After getting rained out last week, Mohawk International Raceway (MIR) will return to action tonight as Twin Leaf Convenience Stores presents the Lightning Sprints, as well as the Frenchie’s Ford “Go Further” Sportsman Series that was postponed from last week.

The track will also have a regular show for the Modifieds and Bandits. The Mod Lites will not be on the schedule.

MIR will also host its first racer loyalty draw, and a Kids Club will participate in the Big Wheel races at intermission. Participants must be a member of the MIR Kids Club in order to participate. Tonight will also be Minor Sports Night, and each child will receive free popcorn by wearing their team jersey to the track.

General admission for the event is $14 for adults and $12 for seniors. Kids 12 and under are free. Pit admission is $30 with a DIRTcar license and $35 without.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m., and the general admission area will open at 5 p.m.

New York StateBass Federation event Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau and the City of Plattsburgh are pleased to welcome the New York State Bass Federation to Lake Champlain Sunday. Registration will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Crete Civic Center. The action on Lake Champlain starts at 5 a.m. Sunday at Dock Street Landing and ends there with the weigh-in at 4 p.m.
