Barracks best-ball net tourney April 14

PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks will hold a two-man best-ball net tournament  Sunday, April 14, starting at 9 a.m. The format is best-ball net where both players get their full handicap and then use the best net score per each hole.

Entry fee is $50 per team and includes skins. Non-members will be charged $25 for greens fee and cart.

Saranac sports sign-up next week

SARANAC — The Town of Saranac will hold registration for t-ball, softball, baseball, and swimming lessons at the town hall on April 15 and 17, from 6:30-8 p.m. A youth commission meeting will be held prior to Monday’s registration starting at 6 p.m.

Coaches are needed for the t-ball team and the girls pee wee team. Age verification is needed, Please bring appropriate proof.

Peru schedules youth registration

PERU — The Town of Peru Youth Commission will hold its registration for all summer activities, including baseball, softball and t-ball, and fall soccer, on Friday, April 12 from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m.-noon, downstairs at the Peru Town Hall.

Youths participating in the baseball/softball program need to reside within the Town of Peru and provide a birth certificate. There will be no exceptions.

Additionally, there will be employment opportunities for youths ages 14 and up. The Youth Commission will also offer one-week summer camps, including tennis, soccer, arts and crafts. The dates will begin on Monday, July 1, and will run from 9 a.m.-noon for four days each. The specific dates of the camps have not yet been determined.

The Youth Commission will continue to offer swimming lessons for a $10 fee per person, or $30 per household. These lessons will run for the month of July also and will be two days per week. Drop off to pick up will be two hours.
