Beauharnois, Chase win Tour de Rand Hill

PLATTSBURGH — Bruce Beauharnois and Alicia Chase captured the men’s and women’s overall championships, respectively, at the YMCA Tour de Rand Hill July 20. Beauharnois finished the race in 45 minutes. Chase clocked 50:24, almost four minutes faster than her winning time in 2008.

Thiry-three cyclists completed the 14-mile uphill ride, which began at the YMCA and finished at Camp Jericho. Many participants have competed every year since the event began in 2005 with just 10 riders.

Portions of the proceeds go to financial assistance for children to attend summer camps.
