Vintage race cars join Airborne's weekly divisions

PLATTSBURGH – Vintage race cars from the 60s, 70s and 80s will be on display and will go racing on Agency Insurance Night at Airborne Speedway.

The program includes Ernie’s Tools DIRTcar Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Limited Late Models, Renegades and Mini Modifieds.

Danny Sullivan of Morrisonville will look to repeat last week’s winning effort in the Adirondack Water Limited Late Model division. Sullivan drove the Banker Orchard/McSweeney’s Red Hots No. 3 to his first victory of the season last week and tightened up the point standings.

The Busch Mini Modifieds are also crowded at the top. Jayson Criss of Plattsburgh leads Rob Clark of Keeseville 318-300 with Eric Reyell, Josh LaPorte and three-time winner Dale O’Neil of Mooers close behind.

Airborne will be the site of one of the New York’s largest fireworks displays of the year on Saturday, June 29. In addition to a racing/fireworks admission of adults/$15, kids 12 and under/free, fireworks only tickets for admission after 8:30 will be available for $10/carload.
