Air Rifle Match results

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club recently hosted its annual Air Rifle Match.

Peter Visconti of Champlain took first place, setting both a club and personal record.

Visconti fired a 380 out of 400 in the 40-shot match.

Andrew Visconti came in second with a 359, which was also a personal best. Third place went to Norbert Yakey, who scored a 329.

Barracks 10-4-4 Golf Tournament

PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks will hold a 10-4-4 Tournament at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. The format is two-man, women or mixed teams with total handicap divided by three.

On the par-3s, each player will play his or her own ball and both scores will count. The par-4s will be played as a scramble and the par-5s will be alternate shot.

The entry fee is $50 per team and includes skins. It’s $25 for non-members, which includes green fees and a cart.

SLYBA registration due Wednesday

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Youth Basketball Association is a designed to provide boys’ and girls’ grades K-6 an opportunity to learn the game of basketball and most importantly have fun while doing so.

Grades 3-6 will be competing in games against other schools and teams. The schedule is yet to be announced. The season will run November through February. Practices will be on Wednesdays and games on Saturdays starting in January.

The last registration session will be 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Petrova Elementary cafeteria gym Wednesday.

Grades K-2 the cost will be $30 and grades 3-6 will be $50. If those interested are unable to attend either of these registration sessions or have any questions regarding the SYLBA, contact Joe Akey 518-524-5769.
