NORTHERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

Chateaugay 1, Norwood-Norfolk 0

CHATEAUGAY — After being absent from the lineup for seven games with a foot injury, Chad Stalter catapulted the Bulldogs (11-3-1, 10-2-1) to a league win.

Stalter took a quick shot that found the far corner of the net with 10:10 remaining in regulation.

“Brennen Secore helped setup the play,” Chateaugay coach Bob Ouimet said. “He pushed the ball up the pitch and cleared it from the left side. From there, Stalter was able to finish.”

The Bulldogs were relentless on offense from the get-go, according to Ouimet.

“Stalter actually had multiple opportunities to score in the first half,” Ouimet said. “He took three straight point-blank shots, but wasn’t able to bury it. We had the wind in our favor in the first half, but couldn’t capitalize.”

Stalter’s game-winning goal was the 36th of his career, moving him into second all-time in school scoring.

Chateaugay has one more regular-season game remaining on its schedule. The Bulldogs have their Senior Game versus Parishville-Hopkinton Friday.

“We tied the first time we played them, so it should be a good game,” Ouimet said.
