Seton Catholic runs well at Bowdoin Park

WAPPINGERS FALLS — Four Seton Catholic runners participated at the Section I Coaches Invitational at Bowdoin Park over the weekend in cross country.

Margaret Champagne finished fourth overall in the girls’ varsity 2 race in a time of 19:21. She was followed by Ashley Leta, who took 17th place in 20:43, and Melissa Whyman, who finished in 22nd with a time of 21:05.

Both Champagne and Whyman had personal bests on the course from last year’s Federation meet. There were 77 finishers with Kelly Hayes of Pearl River taking the top time of 19:17. Pearl River also took the team title with 37 points.

Evan Page was Seton Catholic’s lone runner in the boys’ race. Page took sixth overall in a time of 17:12 in the boys’ varsity 2 race. There were 104 finishers, and Josh Dyrlnad of Irondequoit grabbed first overall in 16:14. Mount Academy took the team title with 40 points.
