NCCS defeats Lake Placid in CVAC volleyball

CHAMPLAIN — Northeastern Clinton used a balanced attack to blank Lake Placid 3-0 in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball Monday.

Amanda Tallon totaled five points, two aces, six digs and 13 assists, while the Cougars defeated the Blue Bombers in straight sets, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-20.

Ashley McCoy was also a major contributor for the Cougars, piling up 14 points on two aces, four kills and six digs.

Ally Wallace was Lake Placid’s backbone on offense, scoring 10 points, four aces and one dig.

SARANAC LAKE — The Chiefs used a relentless attack, winning all three games by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-14.

Anna Dorrance had the hot hand for Saranac, registering 16 points, two aces, six assists, one kill and one block.

Cassie Smith scored nine points, one ace, one assist and two kills, while Charlotte Stevens added nine points, three assists and one kill.

Samantha Martin was the Red Storm’s impact player on offense, grabbing four aces, one block, 10 digs and three kills on 11 points.

Taylor Pitts accumulated 10 points, four aces and two digs for Northern Adirondack.

PERU — The Patriots spoiled the Indians’ Senior Night festivities, collecting a 3-0 win.

Miranda Sheffer was the catalyst for AuSable Valley. Sheffer picked up an unprecedented 35 points, 14 aces, six kills, eight digs and seven assists.

Noelle Miller added four points, one ace, nine kills and four digs.

Lea Perry led Peru with one point, two kills, three digs and seven assists in Peru’s final home game of the regular season.
