---- — Soccer teams host ‘night’ at Beartown

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women’s and men’s soccer teams will be hosting Plattsburgh State Night at Beartown Ski Area on Sunday, from 6-9 p.m.

Beartown offers snowboarding, skiing, and tubing under the lights. Special rate tickets must be purchased in advance at the Angell College Center desk or from members of the Plattsburgh State soccer teams for just $10.

Rod-building program free to all

MORRISONVILLE — Lake Champlain Trout Unlimited’s March meeting will feature “Rod Building 101”.

Local fishing rod builders will discuss how anglers can build their own rods, and will discuss techniques, materials, pitfalls and success stories.

The meeting will be at Gander Lodge, Gander Mountain Store, North Mall, Plattsburgh Tuesday,March 12, at 7 p.m. It’s free, and all are invited.

Spring hockey deadline moved back

PLATTSBURGH — Due to an influx of late registration forms, the Ameri-Can North Sports Center has decided to postpone the start of the “Original 6” spring hockey league by one week. The new deadline for registrations will be Tuesday, March 5.

Adirondack softball meeting Tuesday

WEST PLATTSBURGH —The Adirondack Men’s Slo-Pitch Softball League will have its first informational meeting Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1619 home on Rand Hill Rd.

Lake Champlain Lakers sign-up Sunday

PLATTSBURGH — The Lake Champlain Lakers will be holding sign-ups for their AAU basketball program Sunday at the OLVA gymnasium from 2-4 p.m.

The Laker program runs from March through the end of June. This year’s program will begin with a camp format starting the weekend of March 16 and continue with the travel portion from May-June.
