Northern Impact volleyball team captures first

HERKIMER — Northern Impact 16’s club volleyball team participated in the Caroga Lake Volleyball Tournament in Herkimer on Feb. 10.

The team finished the tournament in first place.

The team members, who participated in at the tournament, were Lexi Joy, Arianna Hicks, Lizzy Maloney, Lydia Bailey, Marissa O’Neill, Christy Grant, Anna Dorrance, Alex Lincoln and Jecelyn Racette. The team is coached, as well, by Rosi Cummings.


Indoor rifle range open Saturday

Plattsburgh — The Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club will be open this Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for public shooting. The Boy Scouts will be using the range in the afternoon.

ADK schedules events

PLATTSBURGH — On Wednesday, Feb. 27, join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK for their Wednesday Walk About Town. Meet at 3 p.m. on the steps of City Hall for a walk around a Plattsburgh neighborhood. The leader of the walk is Lynn Valenti.

Also on Wednesday join the ADK for a guided tour of the New Land Trust at 236 Plummadore Road, Saranac. Ski, snowshoe, or hike depending on the weather conditions for approximately two hours. Meet at the club house at 10 a.m. For information call leader Jim King at 310-1164 for more information.

The public is invited to attend the March 1 program and meeting of the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK at the Old Clinton County Courthouse. The program, at 7 p.m., will feature Frank Lescnisky and his wife Alethe who will present a slide show and lecture on Australia and Tasmania entitled “Iconic and Exotic Australia and Tasmania.” The business meeting follows at 8 p.m.


Best Fourth in the North tournament set for March 23

TICONDEROGA — For more than a decade, basketball alumni have gathered at Ticonderoga High School to help support the “Best Fourth in the North” Basketball Tournament.
