PLATTSBURGH — The Press-Republican will begin running sport previews for the spring season in the next few days.

The following teams have not returned forms as of Tuesday. If you would like to have your team included in the preview, please return your coaching form as soon as possible.

Plattsburgh YMCA hosts boot-camp class

PLATTSBURGH — The YMCA is beginning a boot-camp class Wednesday mornings from 6-7 a.m.

The class will be taught by Cherice Granger. The class involves strength building with high cardio segments.

The first class will be April 10.

Town of Mooers sports sign ups

MOOERS — The town of Mooers will be holding a sign up night for summer sports, which include baseball, softball and t-ball April 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Mooers Town Office.

Plattsburgh State women’s basketball hosts Kids’ Nite Out

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team will host a Kids’ Nite Out event April 13 from 5:30-9 p.m. at Memorial Hall.

The event is for children ages 5-13 and includes sports, games, movies, arts and crafts and swimming.

Cost is $10 per child and registration will be open from 5-6:30 p.m. on that Saturday,

PYH board meeting

PLATTSBURGH — The next Plattsburgh Youth Hockey (PYH) board meeting is Wednesday, April 17 at the Primelink Office, 99 Kansas Avenue at 7 p.m.

The meeting is open to the public.

Barracks Ladies Golf League welcoming new members

PLATTSBURGH — The Barrack’s Ladies Golf League is welcoming new members.

The league plays on Thursdays at 9 a.m. The first day of play will be May 9 and the last August 22.

The season will start with a dinner at the Barracks Wednesday, May 8.

Anyone interested in playing in the league should contact Jennie Booth at 563-3809 for answers to any questions and/or sign up to play.

Those who can play only part of the season are welcome.

Harmony Golf Club open

PORT KENT — The Harmony Golf Club is now open to the public for the season.

Pro shop hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weather permitting.

A green fee with a cart is $27. The restaurant’s anticipated opening is April 26.

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton Community College softball game scheduled for April 12 at North Country Community College has been canceled.

Clinton in search of women’s basketball, soccer coach

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton Community College Athletic Department has openings for a women’s basketball and women’s soccer coach for the 2013-14 school year.

Coaching responsibilities include practice and game implementation, scouting, recruiting and drive college vehicles as well as other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend availability is a must.

Barracks Men’s League meeting April 16

PLATTSBURGH — The organization meeting for the weekly Barracks Men’s League for 2013 will be held April 16 at the clubhouse for 5 p.m.

The projected start date is May 7. There are 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. shifts. Openings are available for the 5 p.m. league.

The league has two-man teams with full handicap in effect.

Disc Golf Tournament April 20

PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Disc Golf Association and the Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department are sponsoring the Adirondack Open Disc Golf Tournament at the Cadyville Disc Gold Course April 20.

It is open to all skill levels and abilities.

The tournament will feature two rounds of disc golf, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Those interested can pre-register online at www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/ADirondack_Open_2013.

Participants who pre-register will receive an ADKGA disc as part of the player pack.

This is the second of six local Disc Golf tournaments scheduled for the courses at Cadyville and AuSable Chasm this year.
