Chazy rolls in game one

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Four different players registered two goals each and the Chazy 19U girls’ hockey team got off to a good start Wednesday at the Tier II National Championships.

The Flyers defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 10-2. Amanda Peterson, Emily Raville, Claire Giroux and Kallie Villemaire all tallied two goals. Christina Emery turned away 10 shots for Chazy, which held a 52-12 advantage.

Chazy jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first period and continued to play well.

The Flyers will face the New Jersey Colonials today.

The tournament includes 12 teams playing in two divisions. After three games, the top four teams in each division will advance to the next round.
