Eagles overtake Hornets in fourth quarter

(Continued)

PLATTSBURGH —

Both teams were involved in a track meet in the final minutes of play, exchanging the lead on multiple occasions before Remillard’s free throws proved to be the difference-makers.

The Chiefs had a potential shot coming on an inbounds play with 1.2 seconds left, but a loose ball with time elapsing erased any chance at a tie or win.

“It was neck-and-neck the whole game,” Saranac coach Brent Dennis said. “Both teams played hard. It came down to the final minute of play.”

Remillard paced the Indians (2-1, 2-1) with 18 points, while teammate Connor Casey added 13, including three 3-point field goals.

Saranac’s John Maye (15), Jeremy Bullis (13), and Michael Conway (10) combined for 38 points in the loss.
