PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh High opened its hockey season with a difficult matchup in two-time Champlain Valley Athletic Conference champion Saranac Lake.
The Hornets, though, came away with a big 2-1 victory over the Red Storm in boys’ high school hockey Wednesday.
“It was opening night and any time you can beat the two-time defending champs it is a good thing, obviously,” Plattsburgh coach Jamie Reidy said. “It was not a bad game overall. As usual to start the year we have a lot to work on, but we showed a lot of heart to pull the game out.
