---- — PLATTSBURGH — Jessey Mueller survived a rough and tumble Modified feature to record his second win on Aird Dorrance/Precision Auto Night at Airborne Speedway. Mueller stayed out of harm’s way during a lot of early thrashing that required four cautions and a red flag to complete three laps.

The attrition included Pierre Berthiaume, Roger Labreche, Kris Vernold and points-leader Todd Stone. When the smoke cleared, George Foley outgunned Mike Reyell for the lead, but Mueller swept by him three laps later. His Mueller & Sons Trucking No. 19 had turned the fastest lap time during the qualifying heats, and once past Foley, he was never headed.

George Foley with Patrick Dupree perched on his bumper in third, finished 2nd. Leon Gonyo closed in on Foley and Dupree in the final laps to claim 4th. Andy Heywood completed the top five.

Dale O’Neil of Mooers took the lead on lap 16 of the Busch Mini Modified 60 and never gave it up despite late race pressure from Kris Clark and Eric Reyell. Clark came from 22nd on the starting grid to claim runner-up honors. He was third at the halfway mark. Jayson Criss and Chris Lavair finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Danny Sullivan survived two late restarts to win the Limited Late Model feature in the Parker Chevrolet/Northeast Irrigation No. 3 by two car-lengths over Jamy Begor, who worked underneath Robin Wood on the final restart for second. Wood maintained his slim lead in the point standings by finishing third ahead of Dylan Paya and Bucko Branham.

The Sportsman Modified 25-lap feature was won by Mike Phinney of Willsboro. Phinney passed Keith Pelkey for the lead on lap 17 and pulled away to his third win. Lonnie Rivers finished second, well ahead of Chris Sousie in third. Pelkey held onto fourth, besting Jamie Lafountain.

“I saw that Pelkey was getting tight off the corners, so I went low even though my car was good on the outside too,” Phinney said.

Tylor Terry edged Jon Boutin in a photo finish to win the Key RD Trailer Sales Renegade nightcap.
