---- — Chazy soccer team celebrates state title with banquet

ALTONA — The Chazy boys’ soccer team will celebrate its NYSPHSAA Class D championship title with a banquet Saturday, March 2 at the Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall in Altona.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., while the team introduction and dinner program is slated for 5:30 p.m.

hosts annual volleyball event

WESTPORT — The Westport Parent Teacher Organization is hosting its annual volleyball tournament Saturday, March 9 at the Westport Central School Gymnasium starting at 5 p.m.

Teams must be registered by Friday, March 8 at 4 p.m. Participating is open to nay high school students, faculty or community members. Not limited to Westport — all communities are welcome.

Teams must consist of three males and three females with no regular subbing. The cost is $5 for each student and $10 for each adult. The number of teams are limited, so register early.

Crux hosts annual indoor climbing competition

WILLSBORO — The Crux (Champlain Valley Climbing Center) will be hosting its third annual indoor climbing competition March 2.

The “Spring Thaw” is an all-ages indoor climbing competition, comprised of two major components: a Youth Division (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and the Adult Division (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) The adult division will be separated into Adult Open, Adult Recreational, and Adult Masters (for ages 50+). Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female competitors in each division.

Winter Adventure results announced

PLATTSBURGH — Forty-six participants made their way to the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum for a Winter Adventure Race held by the Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department and Clinton County Youth Bureau.

Children participared in a snow-obstacle course made up of snow piles, tunnels, tires and more. The final race in the series will be held Saturday, Feb. 23 with registration beginning at 2 p.m. Youth who attend two out of four races will receive a free drawing bag.

VanHoesen records hole-in-one in Fla.

NORTH PORT, Fla. — Dick VanHoesen of Rouses Point recorded a hole-in-one with a six iron on the par three, 156 yard seventh hole at Heron Creek Golf Course.
