SARANAC LAKE — Steve Carder became the all-time leading scorer for the Saints in their loss to the Generals.

Carder finished the game with 15 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds.

“Steve became our all-time leading scorer in school history for both the men’s and women’s programs,” North Country coach Chad LaDue said. “He now has 1,191 points and passed Mary Powers’ 1,165 points.

“Earlier this season, he eclipsed the men’s mark of 1,016, set by Al Miller. This is such a great honor and something our program is very proud to be part of.”

Jonnie Davis led Herkimer with 13 points, while Mike Thomas added 12 and Todd Hunt, 11.

Ian Henderson hit five 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for North Country, followed by Carder’s 15.

Herkimer held a 31-26 lead at the half.

“I was very happy with our team effort and how we competed all game,” LaDue said. “We got better today with our new group.”

Chris Lewis tossed in 14 points, Rob Moore, Edson Pierre and Earl Hassell added 11 apiece, and Brian Bolduc had 10 points and 13 rebounds in a balanced offensive attack for the hosts.
