Amanda Gadway had a great day in the throwing circle as the sophomore set a school record in the weight throw with a toss of 15.08 meters. Not only did she finish in fifth place in the event, that particular heave put her in the ECAC meet.
Her sister, Ashley, posted a 12th-place finish in the event with a SUNYAC-qualifying toss of 12.48 meters.
Both of the Gadways, as well as freshman Laura Diehl, posted SUNYAC qualifying distance in the shot put. Diehl led the charge with an eighth-place finish (10.8 meters) while Ashley (10.7 meters) and Amanda (10.59 meters) finished ninth and 11th respectively.
Kelly Siry took to the lanes and recorded no less than two SUNYAC qualifying times in the short distance races. Siry posted a 16th-place finish in the 200-meter dash (28.21 seconds) and her time of 1:05.28 in the 400 was good enough for a 10th-place finish.
Amanda Schermerhorn continued her strong indoor season in the 800-meter dash. The senior was the first Division III runner to cross the line in the field of 26. Her runner-up time of 2:17.15 in the event was an ECAC qualifying mark.
One of two Plattsburgh State runners in the mile run, Jasmine Boncore posted a 19th-place finish in a time of 5:33.55. That mark was good enough to be considered a SUNYAC qualifier.
All four of the Plattsburgh State athletes that took part in the 3,000-meter run qualified for the SUNYAC meet while a pair of them posted ECAC qualifying times as well. The two who distinguished themselves among the field were Colleen Coon (ninth, 10:29.25) and Kelley Driscoll (10th, 10:33.55).
Katie Ehmann (21st, 10:58.43) and Lauren Templeton (27th, 11:16.62) were both well under the SUNYAC qualifying mark.
In the 4x800-meter relay, the Plattsburgh State quartet of Boncore, Christen Averill, Megan Schweizer and Meagan Sheehan recorded an ECAC qualifying time of 10:02.74 en route to a third-place finish in the event.
