SARANAC LAKE — Jordan Dominic scored all eight of her team’s points in overtime Thursday night as Northeastern Clinton outlasted Saranac Lake 45-40 in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls’ basketball.
Dominic finished with a game-high 17 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Allie Cartier also hit in double figures for the Cougars with 11 points.

Nicole Viscardo led a balanced attack for the Red Storm with 11 points. Megan Kilroy and Katy Buckley added eight points each and Jennifer Ward, seven.
Saranac Lake missed out on an opportunity to win the game as regulation time expired.
“It was tied at 37-all and we had the ball with 20 seconds left,” Saranac Lake coach David Zerrahn said. “We were able to get the ball down low but missed a shot from five feet out.
“Dominic then scored all their points in overtime on three 2-pointers and two foul shots. It was a back-and-fourth game and an exciting one.”

AuSable Valley 52, Northern Adirondack 43
ELLENBURG — The Patriots jumped out to a nine-point lead in the first quarter and that was the final margin of victory.
Meghan Strong tossed in 22 points for AuSable Valley, while Logan Snow added 10 and Haley Taylor, eight.
Jillian Scott paced the improved Bobcats with 14 points and was followed by Rachael Venne with 12 and Taylor Durnin with nine.
“AuSable Valley is a strong team — they work hard and they’re smart,” Northern Adirondack coach Jessica Barnhart said.
“But I was happy with our effort tonight. I’m glad we were able to stick with them. We played a good game.”
