GLENS FALLS — With just one conference game in the books, Lake Placid was looking for a signature victory to solidify itself as a team capable of running the table during its 2012-2013 campaign.
The Blue Bombers (6-0, 1-0), who received a hat-trick performance from Eddie Kane, remained unbeaten with a 5-3 non-league win over traditional powerhouse Glens Falls at the Glens Falls Civic Center Saturday night.

Following two goals in the opening stanza, Lake Placid fired three markers in the middle period with one from Keegan Barney and the other from Kane.
“After a strong first period, we played arguable our best hockey of the season in the second,” Lake Placid head coach Keith Clark said. “However, we didn’t maintain that in the third and they took advantage.”
Following a late goal with 35 seconds remaining in the second, the Indians (2-7, 1-3) added two more in the third to cut the differential to two goals.
However, the Section II representative was unable to register the comeback.
“We let up a bit,” Clark said. “We’re trying to be more consistent from start to finish. There’s a low point in every game where we have a six or seven minute time frame of turning the puck over. They’re a proud program and they made us work for the win.”
The Blue Bombers return to the ice Thursday and Friday for a two-game slate in Middlebury, Vt., versus Brattleboro and Middlebury.
