---- — Peryea tosses fourth 300 game of season

PLATTSBURGH — James Peryea, bowling for Delisle’s Dimwits in the Weekenders League at North Bowl Lanes, rolled his fourth 300 of the season when he finished with a 257-235-300-792 series on April 4. Peryea carries a 221 league average.

LaBier rolls 300 game in Industrial League

PLATTSBURGH — Randy LaBier, bowling in the Industrial League at North Bowl Lanes on April 4, tossed a 300 game and ended the evening with a 268-300-227-795 series.

Altona Youth Sports sign-up April 13

ALTONA — The Altona Youth Sports sign up runs 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday April 13 and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 15 at the Altona Town Hall. For boys and girls, T-ball, Softball & Baseball ages 5 to 16, Soccer ages 3 to 14, and Reading Program ages 4 to 14. Participants must sign up to play. Players who did not hand in their jersey last year, please do so at sign up. Call Claire Lambert with questions at 236-6937.

Willsboro Golf course to open

WILLSBORO — Willsboro Golf Course will open for the season today.

Harmony Golf Club team to form

PORT KENT — Harmony Golf Club is forming its Tuesday night men’s league. There will be an organizational meeting April 30 at 6 p.m. at the restaurant. The expected format will be a two-man scramble. The anticipated start date is May 14. Interested golfers should contact Bruce McCormick at 643-8293 or call the pro shop at 834-9785.

High Peaks offers runs, rides, clinics starting April 15

LAKE PLACID — High Peaks Cyclery will be holding Tuesday night runs with staff member Bill Zellers at 6:15 p.m. starting April 16. The first couple of weeks will start slowly but will gradually increase distance. People of all abilities are encouraged to join in and get in shape. Contact Bill at 523-3764 with any questions.

Brian Delaney or HPC riders will be meeting at the HPC parking lot for fun River Road Loop training rides, weather permitting, every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. starting April 18. All levels welcome, and riders can break into groups.

Beginning April 15, HPC will hold bike clinics every Monday night for four weeks. Each week will focus on a specific topic.

April 22: Brakes and Hydraulic Rim Calipers

April 29: Truing Wheels, On the Road Tire Repairs, Cassettes, and Quick Release Skewers

Jay/Black Brook Youth Commision sign-up April 13

AUSABLE FORKS— The Jay/Black Brook Youth Commission will be holding the final sign-up for the upcoming baseball/softball/t-ball season from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Town of Jay Community Center in AuSable Forks. Children ages 4 to 16 from the towns of Wilmington, Jay and Black Brook are eligible to play. All players must present a birth certificate for age verification. Visconti wins Match 10 rifle finals

PLATTSBURGH— More than 70 shooters from 13 teams competed in Match 10 finals of the Vermont Winter Postal League last weekend at the Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club. Peter Visconti of Champlain fired a 395 and led the pack of shooters. Neal Lewis of Hartford came in second with a 394, and Jim McGinis of Whitehall took third.

The Rough Riders, led by Visconti and Norbert Yakey of Champlain (390) came in third place, five points behind Jamestown with a score of 1,552. In the prone division, Visconti fired a perfect score of 400 with 38 center shots to take first place over Paul Deslieres of Montreal, who also fired a 400 but with 37 center shots. Poker Turtle Walk/Run April 27

PLATTSBURGH— The Second-Annual Poker Turtle Walk/Run to benefit the North Country Cancer Fund on April, 27. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Naked Turtle. Walk/Run starts at noon, and pre-race registration is $20 for the first 50 runners and includes a t-shirt. Registration the day of the race is $20, and shirts cost $12.

All proceeds benefit the North Country Cancer Fund. Registration forms may be picked up at Duke’s Diner or at www/northcountrycancerfund.com or on Facebook.
