Plattsburgh defeats Peru in CVAC volleyball

PERU — Lida Jivitski and Jamie Bedard each had strong outings as Plattsburgh knocked off Peru, 3-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball Monday.

The Hornets captured wins of 25-13, 25-10 and 25-20.

Jivitski finished with 15 points, four aces and two kills to lead Plattsburgh. Bedard added 12 points and three digs.

Kianna Dragoon chipped in with eight points, four aces and 10 assists, while Amanda McMahon had eight points, three aces and four digs.

Taylor Higgins paced the Indians with six points, four aces and two digs. Maddie Kaplan finished with five points, five aces, six kills and five digs.

ELLENBURG — Miranda Sheffer tallied 17 points and eight aces as the Patriots captured the victory over the Bobcats.

Sheffer added four kills, six digs and 12 assists as AuSable Valley grabbed wins of 25-6, 25-9 and 25-15.

Alexandra Lincoln chipped in with 14 points, seven aces, two kills and seven digs. Noelle Miller finished with nine points, two aces, eight kills and four digs.

Emma Trombley paced Northern Adirondack with four points, an ace and three kills.

SARANAC — Grace Kelly had 21 points and six aces as the Eagles knocked off the Chiefs.

Kelly added five kills and seven digs as Beekmantown won games of 25-13, 25-10, 25-9.

“Grace Kelly led our team with a perfect serve receive passing night,” Eagles coach Shana Hileman said. “Shannon Ryan and Emily Anderson had a big night at the net. Ryan totaled her personal high of seven blocks and Anderson earned a game-high 10 kills.”

Michaela Lafountain had a great all-around performance with 28 assists, 13 points, four aces, three kills and seven digs.

Anna Dorrance paced Saranac with two points, two aces and three kills.

Ellen Reid added seven points, two aces, seven kills and five digs for Northeastern Clinton. Oriana LaFlesh finished with four points, three kills and nine digs.

Samantha Martin had nine digs, two kills and four points to lead Saranac Lake. Ellen Miner chipped in with five points, three kills, two digs and two assists.
