The Hornets led 24-14 at halftime Tuesday. Saranac Lake’s Nicole Viscardo scored nine of her 15 points in the third quarter to bring her team within five before Plattsburgh pulled away again.

Regan Kieffer added eight points for Saranac Lake.

CHAMPLAIN — Sophomore guard Kayla Napper fired in 12 points, while Emma Newell (9) and Summer Gillespie (9) combined for 18 as the Chiefs held the Cougars to eight points in the first half.

“We just couldn’t make anything,” Northeastern Clinton coach Frank Dumas said. “Saranac’s defense played well, but we had several good looks. We just couldn’t score. You can’t score eight points in the first half and expect to win against a team of Saranac’s caliber.”

Allie Cartier led the Cougars with 12 points.

PLATTSBURGH — Paige Spittler scored 20 and Kelli Ryan had 18 to lead the Knights past the Bobcats.

On Senior Night, the Knights led by two after the first quarter and stretched that to 31-18 by halftime.

“We played four very good quarters of basketball,” Seton Catholic coach Danielle Castine said. “It was a much better team effort. Everybody really stepped up and came out to play (Tuesday).”

Northern Adirondack’s Magan Magee led all scorers with 22 points, and Taylor Durnin added 10.
