Boyea needed six points coming into the contest. She got a steal, was fouled going to the basket and hit both free throws in the opening minute of the game. She then got to within one point of 1,000 when she came off a screen and hit a 3-pointer.
Then, late in the opening stanza, Hannah Cook got the ball to Boyea, who sank another three.
Boyea finished with 11 points.
“This is a great accomplishment for Courtney and her teammates,” Chateaugay coach Chris Reynolds said. “Courtney would be the first to say that this accomplishment is something that all the team has a piece of.
“Courtney is a coach’s dream. She works hard every day, and you never have to worry about keeping her grounded. She’s as humble as they come.”
The outcome of Thursday’s game was never in doubt as the Bulldogs grabbed a 16-2 lead in the first quarter.
