“Although it ended up being a 14-point game it was very close throughout,” Bilow said. “At one point in the fourth it was seven points. It was just a good game and I am very proud of the boys.”

Burger tossed in a game-high 29 points, 21 in the first half, while pulling down 12 rebounds. Colby Sayah added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Brady Smart chipped in with eight blocks and seven rebounds.

TICONDEROGA — A strong second half proved to be the difference as the Indians defeated the Sentinels.

Peru held a 24-20 lead at the half, but outscored Ticonderoga 36-21 in the second.

Conor Casey led the way for the Indians with 16 points, while Tim Remillard tallied 12 points. Bret Boyer finished with 11 points.

“Peru played aggressive for a full game and just outhustled us,” Sentinels coach Joe Defayette said. “We came out solid in the first quarter, but they outhustled us the rest of the game.

“They did a good job on the rebounds; they beat us up pretty good on the boards.”

Eric Nielsen and Riley Chapman paced Ticonderoga with eight points apiece.
