PLATTSBURGH — A 21-11 run in the third quarter was the big difference in the Hornets’ win over the Knights.

Plattsburgh held a slim 23-21 lead at the half before opening up some breathing room in the third.

“They shot the ball well in the third quarter,” said Seton coach Larry Converse.

Damon LaBorde was the lone PHS player in double figures with 15. The Hornets got balanced scoring, with Garrett Frady, Nate Harrington and T.J. LaPoint each getting eight points and Taoufik Maknani, seven.

Adam Tedford paced the Knights with 17 points, while Kaden Baugh finished with 13 points and eight assists. Chris Kustos played well for Seton Catholic with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Nic Favreau grabbed seven boards.

“I can’t complain about our kids — they work hard,” said Converse. “But they all have to play as well as they can for us to be successful.”

SARANAC LAKE 67, NORTHERN ADIRONDACK 53

ELLENBURG — Kevin Morgan and Daniel Burger put on a show Wednesday, but it was Morgan’s Red Storm that outlasted the Bobcats.

Morgan tallied 27 points, five steals and five assists in Saranac Lake’s victory. Kellen Munn added 17 points, while Teddy Yanchitis finished with 15.

“Their coach did a nice job with his halftime adjustments and it showed,” Northern Adirondack coach Nate Bilow said. “They outscored us in a crucial third quarter to expand on their lead.”
