PLATTSBURGH — Danny Poirier, who will compete in the high-performance snowmobile races at Airborne Speedway Jan. 12-13, rides for Polaris. His team was incorrectly identified in Wednesday’s Press-Republican.

Ice Bowl disc golf tourney set

CADYVILLE — The Adirondack Disc Golf Association will hold the Adirondack Ice Bowl on Saturday at the Cadyville Disc Golf Park on Goddeau Road.

Registration opens at 9 a.m. with a players’ meeting at 9:45 a.m. The tournament will begin at 10 a.m.

Entry fee is $20 and five cans of food to be donated to the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Shelf. The first 25 registered players will receive a Gateway Wizard Putter stamped with the Official Ice Bowl Logo.

Northern Tier youth bowling to resume Saturday

CHAMPLAIN — The Champlain/Rouses Point Youth Commission’s bowling program will resume Saturday at Bowl Mart Lanes, Rte. 11, Champlain.

It will be held Saturday afternoons Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. It is open to children ages 5 to 17 who are residents of the Town of Champlain, Village of Champlain or Rouses Point. Participants need to arrive early for registration, pay for shoe rental and may bowl up to three games.

Town of Plattsburgh offers free youth bowling

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department is again sponsoring a free bowling program for all school-aged children who are residents of the town, beginning Sunday, Jan. 6.

There is no cost to the participants. Children can bowl up to three games and receive the shoe rentals at no charge.

All areas of the town will bowl at North Bowl Lanes on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. This program will run every week through Feb. 24. Register at the bowling alley at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings with the Town Bowling Coordinator.

Skating club begins January session

PLATTSBURGH — The Skating Club of the Adirondacks will begin its January session this weekend at the Plattsburgh State Field House. SCA offers ice skating lessons for all levels and all ages.

Chartwells/Cardinal Hockey Dinner set for Jan. 26

PLATTSBURGH — The Ninth-Annual Chartwells/Cardinal Hockey Charity Dinner, to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern New York, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 5:30-11 p.m. in the Warren Ballroom of the Angell College Center on the Plattsburgh State campus.

The cost of the buffet is $25 for individuals, $215 for one table (9) and $400 for two tables (18).

Over the years, the dinner has raised more than $38,000 for Make-A-Wish.

Included during the program will be live skits performed by members of the Plattsburgh State hockey team, a live and silent auction, 50/50 drawing etc. Items for the auction will include Plattsburgh State hockey apparel, NHL memorabilia and products donated by local businesses.
