The Saints (7-5) avoided the shutout when Emerson Mentor tallied unassisted with 18:29 left in regulation.

Onondaga held a 7-4 shot advantages and Ty Downes made three saves in net for the win. Beau Standford stopped four shots for North Country.

Saints’ coach Adam diVincenzo wasn’t happy with the outcome.

“We didn’t play well,” he said. “I’m not impressed with the way we’ve been playing of late.”

North Country returns to action on Monday with a 4 p.m. home contest against Jefferson Community College.
