Little League playoffs resume tonight

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Little League playoffs continue today with two games.

Pepsi will take on NuWay at Penfield while City Police and VFW will clash at South Platt. Both games are scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m.

If South Platt is unplayable, the Police-VFW game will be held at South Acres.

Westport CC men’s league to meet

WESTPORT — A Westport-area summer men’s golf league will hold an organizational meeting at the Westport Country Club at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 20. Anyone interested in playing in the league is asked to attend the meeting.

Adirondack Cycling Team welcoming riders

PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Cycling Team (ACT) is welcoming road bike riders in the greater Plattsburgh area to join up for the 2012 biking season. ACT is a bicycling club that normally holds group rides on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

There are typically groups of beginning, intermediate and advanced rides within these rides. There is a no drop policy for beginners. Take a look at our website at: http://www.adirondackcyclingteam.com/. Membership is $15 for individuals and $20 a year for families. Rides can be viewed at this website.

If you would like to try a ride before you join the club, we have a waiver form. We are looking for members who enjoy exercise and meeting other local riders. A road bike is recommended and helmets are required for safety first.

Ti Montcalm Mile set for July 4

TICONDEROGA — The LaChute Road Runners Club of Ticonderoga has long believed the Montcalm Mile is the fastest course in the North Country. A year ago Lee Berube proved it, becoming the first runner to ever break four minutes in the region. The college All-American and NCAA Division III cross-country runner-up was clocked in three minutes, 54 seconds.
