Northern Adirondack seeking winter coaches

ELLENBURG — Northern Adirondack Central School is seeking qualified coaches for the following positions: girls’ junior varsity basketball; girls’ modified basketball; and boys’ modified basketball.

Town of Plattsburgh offering free kayak trip

SARANAC — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department will be offering a free kayak trip to all Town of Plattsburgh active adults and seniors on October 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We will start in Saranac at Picketts Corners Park at 11 a.m. and travel 6.3 miles down the river to the Cadyville Beach. The trip will take approximately two hours. All equipment will be provided to those who need it and we welcome those with their own equipment to join us on this leisurely paddle.

All participants must pre-register prior to the trip and can do so by stopping by or calling the Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department at 151 Banker Road, or 562-6860. Space is limited so register today.

Plattsburgh F.C. Soccer Club holding evaluation session

CLINTONVILLE — The Plattsburgh F.C. Soccer Club announces its second evaluation session for U14 boys on Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. at the AuSable Valley High School turf field.

Players must have been 12 on or before Aug. 1, 2013 and not have turned 14 on or before July 31. For more information or the age matrix visit the club’s website at plattsburghfc.com.

All players must attend the evaluation on Oct. 5.

Earle named women’s basketball coach at Clinton

PLATTSBURGH — Ryan Earle has been appointed the new women’s basketball coach for the Clinton Community College Cougars for the 2013-14 season.

Earle is a native of the area, graduating from Peru Central High School, where he was a member of the 2002 boys’ sectional champion team as a player. Following high school, Ryan attended Clinton Community College where he continued his playing career. Ryan was the point guard for the men’s program which, in 2007, made it to the Regional Final Four, led by current men’s basketball coach, Kevin Daugherty.
