10 YEARS AGO (2003)

Kristen Blair, Elyse LaFountain and Jamie Coupal score goals while Kristin Fillion records 4 saves for the shutout as the Clinton Community College women complete the school’s first undefeated season in soccer, beating SUNY Canton 4-0 to improve to 17-0-0.

Eddie Bevins and Jesse Berube finish 1-2 as Ticonderoga edges PHS 26-29 in cross country.

Kaylen Fessette scores a 9.6 on the balance beam to lead Beekmantown past Ticonderoga in gymnastics.

Chazy’s Jeff Krywanczyk sets a state record for career shutouts in boys’ soccer with his 58th in 5-0 win over Crown Point.

Sophomore Gena Rosenbaum establishes school records for goals (17) and points (38) in a season and career assists (11) in Plattsburgh State’s 5-1 win over Fredonia in women’s soccer.

Brad Cringle runs for 291 yards and accounts for all of Saranac’s points in a 27-13 victory over AuSable Valley.

20 YEARS AGO (1993)

Former MAI standout Todd LaValley finishes with a 4-4 record and a 3.96 earned-run average pitching for the Duluth-Superior Dukes of the Northern League.

Karen Mero and Jody Bigalow score goals as unbeaten Crown Point downs Chazy 2-0 to improve to 7-0.

Sam Godfrey carries 18 times for 169 yards to go over 1,100 for the season in Peru’s 31-0 triumph over PHS.

Two-way standout Ed Tromblee goes down with an ankle injury midway through the third quarter; however, Moriah rallies to beat AuSable Valley 8-3. Freshman quarterback Jason Carson tosses an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Sargent on fourth down and Chris Huchro runs for 130 yards.

25 YEARS AGO (1988)

Chad Lawrence, Mike Davis, Tom Dumont and Peter Price lead Malone to a first-place finish in a 50-team field at the Fayetteville-Manlius cross-country invitational.
