BEEKMANTOWN — Kallie Villemaire poured in four goals and added an assist as the Eagles bounced back from a tough loss to Saranac earlier in the week with a one-sided win over the Red Storm.

Kiley Regan added a goal and two assists, Lindsey Gonyea a goal, Bethany Simpson a goal and Courtney Wilson three assists.

Beekmantown jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the half on a goal by Gonyea and the next three by Villemaire.

Lauren O’Connor recorded the shutout with 11 saves and Katy Hunt stopped 20 shots for Saranac Lake.

“This was a nice performance on both ends of the field for us,” Beekmantown coach Pete Bursik said. “After the loss on Wednesday to Saranac, I thought we came in with a great attitude.

“I thought Saranac Lake played hard throughout the game even though they are without a few players due to injuries. Katelyn Hewitt and Sheila Decker played well for them.”

“This helped her surpass her total goals scored from last season with four games in the regular season left to go,” Minerva/Newcomb coach Candice Gereau said.

Mary LaBar needed to make just one save for the shutout and Molly Wisser turned away eight shots for the Wildcats.
