Beekmantown defeats PHS in CVAC gymnastics

BEEKMANTOWN — Alyssa Leonard nearly completed a sweep of every event Friday to help lead Beekmantown to a 148.70-127.25 victory over Plattsburgh High in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference gymnastics.

Leonard won the all-around with a 32.70 after finishing first in the uneven parallel bars (8.00), balance beam (8.10) and floor exercise (9.20).

The only event Leonard didn’t win was the vaulting where she tied for second with teammate Lydia Gricoski (7.40) behind the Hornets’ Hannah Kaltenbach, who was first with a 7.60.

Erica Leonard placed second on the bars and floor, while Gricoski also took second on the beam and second in the all-around.
