Duprey, Bushey, Watts toss 300 games

PLATTSBURGH — Chad Duprey, T.J. Bushey and Mike Watts recently tossed 300 games at North Bowl Lanes.

Duprey, bowling for Team #5 in the Weekenders League on Sept. 14, rolled a 300 in his first game of the evening and finished with a 300-169-242-711 series. Duprey carries a 224 league average.

Bushey, bowling for Team #6 in the Industrial League on Sept. 19, rolled a 248-217-300-765 series. Bushey’s league average is 211.

Meanwhile Watts, bowling on the same team as Bushey and on the same night, tossed a 237-260-300-797 triple. Watts, who carries a 229 average, was entered in the “Pot of Gold” and won $300 for his 300 game.

Rough Rider Jr. team accepting registration

PLATTSBURGH — Registration is now open for the Rough Rider Jr. Competition Rifle Team.

Juniors practice on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. at the Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club. First practice will take place on the first Thursday in October.

Those participating in fall sports may join at any time. Equipment and coaching is provided free of charge. Cost for a family membership is $40, plus $5 per night. Ammunition is available.

Youth Pheasant Hunt set for Sept. 28-29

WILLSBORO — The 2013 Youth Pheasant Hunt, sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Gander Mountain and the Willsboro Fish & Game is open to youth hunters ages 12-15.

Participants must have a NYS hunting license. Skeet practice is Sept. 21-22 at 9 a.m. at the Willsboro Fish & Game Club. The hunt is Sept. 28-29 at 9 a.m. and there will be food and beverages served after the hunt.
