CHAMPLAIN — Jordan Birlotti picked up his first and second goals on the varsity level as Northeastern Clinton picked up a 2-1 win over Peru in boys’ Northern Soccer League action Tuesday.
“This was a big win for the Cougars against a very good Peru team,” Cougars coach Dale Hawksby said. “Garrett Begore played an outstanding game at midfield. Brent Stein, Nick Leduc, Rodney Grimshaw and Calen Deuso played solid throughout the whole game as well.”

The first of Birlotti’s two goals came with less than nine minutes gone in the first half.
His team’s lead, however, was short lived.
Two minutes and 20 seconds later, Dylon Bridges scored to help the Indians tie the game at one apiece. The assist was credited to Ian Spear.
The two teams exited the pitch for halftime tied at 1-all.
Birlotti’s game-winning goal came just 2:55 after play resumed for the second half. Ryan Parent made the assist on the play.
Brady Vassar made six saves for the Northeastern Clinton, while Guy Loveless accumulated nine for the Indians.

CHAZY — Josh Barriere registered one goal and two assists as the top-ranked Eagles blanked the No. 16 Blue Bombers, 3-0.
“We had a strong game from Josh Barriere and Zach Brothers in the midfield and Gage Ducatte and Alex Rabideau up front,” Chazy coach Rob McAuliffe said.
Ducatte opened scoring with just 56 seconds gone in the first half.
The Eagles were able to maintain a 1-0 lead at the halftime break.
Barriere helped Chazy extend its differential to two goals at 4:41 of the second half with the assist credited to Ducatte.
