Eagles edge Indians in CVAC gymnastics

BEEKMANTOWN — Alyssa Leonard picked up individual wins in the vault, bars and floor events as well as grabbing the all-around in Beekmantown’s 158.25-156.95 win over Peru in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference gymnastics Tuesday.

Lydia Gricoski, Leonard’s teammate, registered the victory in the beam event by accumulating 8.50 points.

Leonard won the all-around with 34.45 points, while Gricoski (31.80) and Erica Leonard (31.10) completed the podium finishers.

Kara Fisher was the Indians’ highest finisher with 30.95 points in fourth, while Alison Trudo (30.65) rounded out the top five.

Peru’s Lexi Trombley was sixth at 30.25.
