“We knew we had some things to work on coming into the game,” Ticonderoga coach Dan Dorsett said. “But, now we know we have a lot to work on.”
Joe Foran went 2-for-2 for Fort Ann, scored three runs and stole six bases. George Lehoisky chipped in with two hits, three RBI and a two-run homer in the third inning.
Tyler Mattison pitched four innings to capture the pitching victory.
Jordan Woods led the way for Ticonderoga with a pair of hits, all three RBI and a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Miles Austin had the Sentinels’ other hit and scored on Woods’ home run.
Tanner Wright suffered the loss on the mound.
“Pitching hurt us,” Dorsett said. “And, I thought we’d hit the ball better than we did. But, it was the first time they had seen live pitching.
“Hopefully we see some improvements (today) against Peru.”
Ticonderoga hosts the Indians today at 3:30 p.m. in a non-league contest.
