Saranac girls’ AAU meeting today

SARANAC — The Saranac Cardinals AAU girls’ basketball program will have an informational meeting at 6 p.m. March 19 in the large instruction room in the high school. Tournament dates, program costs and tryout dates will be given out. All interested girls in grades 5 to 11 should attend the meeting with a parent. For more information, call Tim Newell at 293-1198.

Pat Ward hoops tourney Saturday

ELIZABETHTOWN — The 23rd-annual Pat Ward Memorial Basketball Tournament will be held Saturday at Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School. The organizers of the annual tournament have given more than $20,000 in memorial fund money to soccer players who graduated from Elizabethtown-Lewis.

Titus Mountain last stop for ECS

MALONE — Snowmobile race teams from around the northeast are gearing up for a dramatic conclusion to the 2014 season as East Coast Snocross (ECS) prepares for its season finale on Friday and Saturday at Titus Mountain Family Ski Center.

There will be racing under the lights Friday night to amplify the level of excitement. Spectator gates will open at 3 p.m. Friday, with amateur qualifying rounds getting under way at 4 p.m. Pro and Pro Lite riders will hit the track by 6 p.m. and contest their finals during the evening.

Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday with amateur qualifying rounds already in progress. The finals will begin shortly after lunch and conclude by 3 p.m. Admission is $10 per day for adults and $8 for children ages 8 to 12, while children age 7 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes valid through the weekend will be available for an extra $5.
