TICONDEROGA — Top-seeded Ticonderoga was put to the test Thursday afternoon.
The Sentinels rallied from a 2-0 deficit and recorded a 3-2, eight-inning victory over upset-minded Northern Adirondack in the Section VII Class C girls’ softball semifinals.

The win puts the Sentinels (12-3) into the C championship game against the winner of today’s AuSable Valley at Lake Placid contest.
“NAC always comes ready to play in sectional time and they scare me,” Ticonderoga coach Shelly Young said.
“But this was big for us. The girls responded when we were behind and stepped up, including some players who we moved up to the varsity. I’m just glad we won.”
Kylie Austin, who took over for starter Jordan McKee in the fourth inning, was the winning pitcher. The two combined to allow six hits. Losing pitcher Alexis Boulrice, meanwhile, struck out four and surrendered just three hits.
The fourth-seeded Bobcats took the lead in the first inning when Magan Magee hit one of her two doubles in the game and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
In the fourth, Jillian Scott reached on an error, stole second and scored on Michaela Manor’s single for a 2-0 NAC lead.
The Sentinels got one of the runs back in the fifth on Haleigh Wright’s sacrifice fly and tied it in the sixth on Maura Jebb’s double and Austin’s run-scoring single.
Then, in the bottom of the eighth, Nicole Fuller led off the inning with a double. Jebb put down a sacrifice bunt and the throw to third was wild, allowing Fuller to cross the plate with the game-winning run.
