Saranac, Peru boys tie in CVAC bowling

PLATTSBURGH — Peru’s Kyle Mendofik rolled a 174-231-267-672 series, but the upset-minded Saranac boys’ bowling team was able to record a 5-all tie in a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference match Monday.

“Saranac demonstrated outstanding team effort through excellent spare shooting and timely strikes,” Indians coach David Mendofik said. “Being down early in both the first and second game, a determined Saranac team mounted a strong finishing effort to come back and beat us. Through strong determination in the third game, we salvaged the tie.”

The Chiefs were led by Chris Fall (236-201-191-628), Jack Malik (203-183-213-599) and Dalton Exford (197-187-172-556). Malik’s 599 series was a career-best.

Jonathan Bowman (225-227-616), Keegan Kemp (201-243-607) and Cole Cragle (198-203-540) were also significant contributors for the Indians.

On the girls’ side, Peru was able to leave with a 4-0 victory in large part from Abbey Boudrieau’s 256-172-563 series. Karri Kousalonis (189-199-547) also surpassed the 500-pin mark.

Taylor Duquette (181-444) and Alissa Aquila (131-130-378) were standouts for the Chiefs.

PLATTSBURGH — Ryan Munson (218-244-657) and Ryan Douglas (219-242-653) paced the Eagle boys’ in a 10-0 win over the Hornets.

Austin Recore’s 227-227-612 series and Dennon Walantus’ 201-222-603 series were good enough to eclipse the 600 mark.

Ryan Beebie was Plattsburgh High’s lone standout, tossing a 213-518 series.

The Beekmantown girls’ continued their winning ways with Paedyn Mattioli (222-244-649), Harley Wells (202-204-588) and Sara Munson (192-516) leading the charge in a 4-0 victory.

Brooke Marbut was a standout for the Hornets, rolling a 169-466 series.
