Brushton-Moira hosts youth basketball tournament

BRUSHTON — Brushton-Moira Central School and the North Country Blazers will be hosting their annual North Country Shootout youth basketball tournament March 28, 29 and 30.

The Blazers are currently seeking teams for their tournament.

Boys’ and girls’ teams include sixth grade and under, eighth grade and under and ninth grade and under.

Those interested can register at or call 529-7432 or 651-0805. The entry fee is $200, while the registration deadline is $200.

The tournament’s location is 758 County Route 7 in Brushton.


Plattsburgh City School District offers adult volleyball

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh City School District is offering volleyball for those ages 18 and older.

Whether you’re a beginner or play regularly, those interested are encouraged to come and have fun with one of the Plattsburgh City School District elementary gym teachers.

Sessions will occur at the Bailey Avenue School Gym from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 15, 22 and 29, Feb. 5, 12 and 26 and March 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Sessions are $2 or $20 for city residents, $25 for non-residents and $15 for senior gold card members (city residents who are 55 or older).

CYH hosts months meeting Thursday

CHAZY — Chazy Youth Hockey will be having its monthly meeting at Scotts’ Memorial Rink in Chazy at 7 p.m. Thursday.


Champlain Centre holds “Meet the Cardinals” Jan. 8

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh State is home to some of the most premier Division III athletes in the country and you can meet them.

Champlain Centre mall will be hosting the “Meet the Cardinals” winter event Jan. 8 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. near the food court, in front of Best Buy and Target. Those interested are encouraged to meet the winter athletes from the men’s and women’s hockey teams, the men’s and women’s basketball teams and men’s and women’s track and field teams.
