Frady leads Hornets to win over Sandstoners

PLATTSBURGH — Garrett Frady accounted for 17 points, six assists and six steals Thursday as the Plattsburgh High boys’ basketball team rolled to a 66-38 nonconference victory over Potsdam.

Nate Hughey added 11 points for the Hornets, while Taoufik Maknani finished with nine and Adam LaBorde had eight.

Dequan Pitts played a good game down low for the Sandstoners and finished with 17 points.

Plattsburgh jumped out to a commanding 39-19 lead at the half and then held a 56-26 advantage after three quarters.

“Our defensive pressure in the second and third quarters was outstanding,” Plattsburgh coach Chris Hartmann said. “The team is playing with a lot of confidence on defense, and they know their teammates are there to support them.

“This is a great win for us over an excellent Section X program.”
