Winter Adventure Race held

PLATTSBURGH — Thirty-two kids made their way to the first Winter Adventure Race of February, held by the Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department and Clinton County Youth Bureau.

Children participated in an obstacle course race made up of log piles, tunnels, tires, scooters and more.

The second race in the series will be held Saturday with registration beginning at 2 p.m. at the former Cedar Knoll Building on the Military Turnpike.

Connor Christopherson named Athlete of the Week.

ITHACA — Connor Christopherson, a Morrisonville native, broke the Cortland State heptathlon record while competing in his first collegiate heptathlon event at the Cornell Upstate Challenge Jan. 25. Christopherson finished seventh with 4,288 points. The previous school record was 4,277 set in 2006. Christopherson currently ranks 13th nationally in the heptathlon and also recorded an ECAC-qualifying distance in the long jump during the competition with a distance of 6.75 meters (22 feet, 1.75 inch).

Christopherson was named ECAC Division III Upstate New York Athlete of the Week, SUNYAC Athlete of the Week and Cortland Athlete of the Week.

Town of Plattsburgh offering programs

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department will be offering the following programs free to any town resident during school vacation.
