Team Placid Planet to hold winter club meeting

LAKE PLACID — Team Placid Planet, a cycling and triathlon club based in Essex, Clinton, and Franklin Counties and the High Peaks Region, will hold its winter club meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7:20 p.m. at Fitness Revolution, 1991 Saranac Avenue (NY Rt. 86), Lake Placid.

All those interested in fast (road or mountain) bike riding or racing or triathlon are invited to the meeting. We’ll discuss individual and team goals for the racing season as well as for our race weekend in Wilmington May 31 and June 1. We will also kick off the team clothing order process and elect club officers.

All are also invited to a spin session, compliments of Fitness Revolution, starting at 5:30 p.m. and running until 7 p.m. Use a spin bike or bring your bike and a trainer. Bring a towel, showers are available before the meeting.

Raville on ESG women’s hockey team

PLATTSBURGH — Emily Raville a 2013 Beekmantown Central School graduate will be competing in the 2014 Empire State Games for the women’s ice hockey team.

Raville was a member of the New York State Champion Beekmantown Eagles team in 2013. She was also a member of the 2013 Chazy U19 Team that captured a National Championship in San Jose, California.

Big Daddy’s Rabbit Derby to be held

REDFORD — The 7th-annual Big Daddy’s Rabbit Derby will be held on February 15 and 16. Two spaghetti dinners and door prizes will be given with every entry. Prizes will be based on the number of entries.

There will also be a Texas Holden Tournament on Friday, February 14 starting at 6 p.m, Seats are limited so contact us to reserve your spot. The derby will be held at Big Daddy’s camp on Ore Bed Road in Redford.
