Hunter to play soccer at Clark University

Worcester, Mass. — Former NCCS athlete McKenna Hunter will continue his soccer career at Clark University this fall.

Hunter was a strong student-athlete for the Cougars, earning a perfect 4.0 GPA and finishing ranked in the top three of his class. He plans on majoring in mathematics.

Hunter was a two-year varsity athlete for NCCS and was named a Second-Team All-Star in the Northern Soccer League Div. I.

Plattsburgh Baseball Club elections today

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh Baseball Club will hold its annual elections Wednesday at the Ground Round, starting at 7 p.m. All positions are yearly, and the election is open to the public.

Bowl Mart fall leagues have openings

CHAMPLAIN — Bowl Mart Lanes will start the fall bowling leagues on Sept. 3. There are current openings on the Monday night five-person men’s league, Monday night three-person women’s league, Tuesday evening scratch three-person league, Wednesday morning senior league, Wednesday night four-person mixed league and Saturday morning youth league. Keeseville soccer sign-ups Thursday

KEESEVILLE —The Keeseville Youth Commission will be holding soccer sign-ups for all boys and girls born between Nov. 1, 1998 and Nov. 1, 2007. Sign-up will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Town of AuSable Office Building. Practices begin Aug. 26. For further information, contact Mike Finnegan at 569-3027.

PSU soccer holding Preseason Training Camp

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State men’s soccer team will be sponsoring a Preseason Training Camp for high school soccer players. The camp is set up to get high school players into top shape so they will be ready for their upcoming season. The training sessions will use soccer-specific exercises and drills to enhance players’ fitness and skills to get a jump on the season.

Forty high school girls and 40 high school boys will be accepted, including four goalkeepers per group. The camp, run by Plattsburgh State coaches and players, will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12 to 16 at the Plattsburgh State game field. The cost is $75 per person. Each athlete must bring his or her own soccer ball.
