Hampton scores 17, helps Warriors past Lions

ELIZABETHTOWN — Keenan Hampton poured in a team-high 17 points as Willsboro pulled away from Elizabethtown-Lewis in the second half to secure a 43-37 boys’ Northern Basketball League victory Monday.

The Lions held a 21-16 lead at the half, but the lead evaporated to nothing at the end of the third quarter. The Warriors then outscored Elizabethtown-Lewis, 16-10, in the fourth quarter to claim the victory.

Seth Swires added 10 points for Willsboro, while Nick Arnold tossed in eight points.

Zac Noka-Bailey scored 17 points to lead the charge for the Lions. Cortland White chipped in with nine points.

CHATEAUGAY — Seth Young fired 15 points and Tyler Jones 11, but the Bulldogs surrendered 20 points in the fourth quarter in a five-point loss.

Jones hit three 3-pointers.

Corey Labounty had a game-high 17 points for the Saints. Brandon Votra added 12.

“It was nice to have Noah (Bowes) come back from a major knee injury,” Chateaugay coach Mike Martin said. “Seth Young and Tyler Jones played real well (Monday). Corey Labounty had a huge fourth quarter for them, scoring 13 points.”
