Civic Center releases March skating schedule

ROUSES POINT — Public skating ($2.00) will be offered for $2 at the Rouses Point Civic Center from 4 to 5:20 p.m. March 3 to 7, 10 to 14 and 17 to 21. There will also be public skating from 5 to 6:50 p.m. March 15. 

Open hockey is offered for $5 from 9:30 to 11:20 a.m. every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Full equipment is required.

Chazy soccer banquet tickets available

CHAZY — Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Chazy Boys Soccer New York State Championship Banquet to be held at 5 p.m. March 15 at The Rainbow Banquet Hall. The guest speaker will be Chazy alum Major General Joseph A. Brendler. Contact Mary at 572-7185 for tickets.

AC North offering ice time this weekend

PLATTSBURGH — The Ameri-Can North Sports Center will offer Stick-N-Puck from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 and public skating from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on March 1.

Rabbit derby set for March 1, 2

PLATTSBURGH — The 11th-annual Sons of the American Legion Post 1619 Rabbit Derby will be held March 1 and 2 at Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh. The entry fee of $12 includes two chicken-and-biscuit dinners, door prizes, shotgun raffles and much more. All rabbits must be entered by 4 p.m. Sunday. For more info, call the post at 561-8706. 

Saranac Booster Club meeting March 3

SARANAC — The Saranac Central School Booster Club will have a meeting at 7 p.m. March 3 in the large group instruction room at the high school. New members are welcome to attend.

Clinton announces basketball honors

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton Community College athletic department is pleased to announce that four men’s basketball players, as well as coach Kevin Daugherty, have been recognized by the Mountain Valley Conference (MVC).

Mykelle Krecko (Peekskill) was chosen to the First Team. Krecko, a senior, is second in the NJCAA in both rebounds and blocked shots and leads Region III in rebounds, blocked shots and field-goal percentage. He has twice been chosen the Region III Player of the Week and was chosen once as the NJCAA Player of the Week.
