Spittler makes All-Academic Team

PLATTSBURGH — Seton Catholic’s Paige Spittler, a member of the girls’ soccer team, was selected to the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference’s John J. Herbert All-Academic Team for the fall season.

Spittler is president of the National Honor Society and secretary of the Student Council and is involved in Campus Ministry and Model UN. She’s been a captain on the soccer and basketball teams and also competes in track and field.

Spittler’s complete list of activities was not submitted to the Press-Republican in time for Tuesday’s article.

NCCS seeks tennis coach

CHAMPLAIN — Northeastern Clinton Central School District is seeking a varsity tennis coach for the 2014 sports season.

Poker tournament set for Friday

REDFORD — The 4th-Annual Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament will be hard Feb. 14 at Big Daddy’s hunting camp on Ore Bed Road in Redford.

The tournament starts at 6 p.m., and all participants are asked to arrive by 5:30 p.m.

ADK ski outing to be held Feb. 17

KEENE — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for a cross-country ski outing to the Lower Ausable Lake on Feb. 17. This is considered moderate in difficulty. Call leader Anne Bailey at 563-5794 by Feb. 15 to sign up.

Winter Adventure Race results announced

PLATTSBURGH — Thirty-four kids participated in the Feb. 8 Winter Adventure Race hosted by the Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department and Clinton County Youth Bureau. The obstacle course was made up of log piles, tunnels, tires, scooters and more.

The third race in the series will be held Feb. 15, with registration beginning at 2 p.m. at the former Cedar Knoll Building on the Military Turnpike. For more information, contact the Youth Bureau at 565-4750.
